The Data Protection Officer or DPO is a new figure created by the GDPR whose main functions are to supervise compliance with data protection regulations, advise the data controller and be the point of contact with the Authorities and data subjects.
Both the RGPD and the LOPDGDD provide for a series of cases in which it is mandatory to appoint a data protection officer.
